The Role of the Camp Director

The information contained in this section is designed to walk camp directors through the daily tasks they need to complete to ensure the effective running of the camp and to help their Regional Director with the information needed to complete camp paperwork.

All directors should ensure they go through the videos in order and understand the process.

  • Note that this video references "Coach Better" which is our older version of the Online Resource Library. It also mentions Elite Camps- we no longer do these.

  • Please note video 5 shows a quick visual of the portal including the summer 2024 re-sign section. The summer 2026 section will look slightly different. We also reference the chance that we may offer price breaks if someone signs during the week of camp. This is less likely in 2026. 
  • Be aware that each region may approach the Re-sign strategy differently. We have multiple ways now to confirm a commitment for 2027. As always, communication is key and this should be a topic that Regional Staff cover with their Camp Director early in the week.

Camp Director Training Series: Part 6 - Paperwork

  • The 6th and final video is the longest. We are still using the 2023 version because the principles remain the same, and by and large, the paperwork shown in this video is also still used. 2 major things not covered to be aware of:
  1. For the Re-sign process we now have an online portal that we encourage ambassadors to complete instead of a physical piece of paper. More details on this in the 5th video in this training series.
  2. The check in form NOW has extra columns for the optional shorts that some people will have ordered. More details on this in the 2nd video in this training video.
  3. The video talks about the weekly car inspection form too. This can now be completed digitally on the proactive app. Doing a physical copy is always helpful too and remains an alternative option if you cannot access proactive (please speak to your Regional Staff if you cannot though)

Note- nothing wrong with watching these videos at x1.25 or x1.5 speed. There is a lot of detail in them and trying to explain what is a concrete learning experience can be difficult...no offence will be taken!
